Step-by-Step Process for Setting Up Office365 Authenticator on a New Phone

Step 1: De-register the Old Authenticator App

  1. Open a web browser and go to My Account on Microsoft.
  2. Log in using your Office365 credentials.
  3. Navigate to the Security Info tab.
  4. Scroll down until you see the Authenticator App section.
  5. Select Delete next to the old authenticator app to remove it.

Step 2: Download a New Authenticator App

  1. Go to the app store on your new phone (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
  2. Search for an authenticator app of your choice (e.g., Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator).
  3. Download and install the chosen authenticator app.

Step 3: Re-register with Microsoft

  1. Open the new authenticator app on your phone.
  2. Go back to My Account on Microsoft in your web browser.
  3. In the Security Info tab, select Add Method and choose Authenticator App.
  4. A QR code will appear on the screen.
  5. Use your new authenticator app to scan the QR code.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the registration process.

After completing these steps, your new phone will be registered with the authenticator app, and you'll be able to use it for Office365 authentication.
